Listed in the 1904 St Louis catalogue simply as “Basin, Pottery. By Yabu (Meizan), Osaka.” The photograph shows a deep basin with a lobed, diapered rim, its walls crowded with hundreds of tiny figures, on a carved wooden stand. Present whereabouts unrecorded.
Possible identification (unconfirmed): Henry Walters bought Meizan’s six-lobed Bowl with a Multitude of Women (Walters 49.2280) at this exposition. The silhouette is similar, but the plate alone cannot confirm they are the same object.
