A small vase in the Minneapolis Institute of Art, recorded as Satsuma ware, earthenware painted in overglaze enamels and gilt, decorated with figures drying, sorting and packing cloth — one of the studio’s favoured “workers” subjects. Mia records the mark “on bottom in gold on red: 藪明山 {Yabu Meizan}” and dates the vase to the early 20th century. Gift of John C. Weber.
Mia marks the object “Public Domain”.
